Breast Services
The South Birmingham Breast Unit service is managed by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and is located at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital.
The unit also provides breast screening services to the South Birmingham region. Screening is offered to women between 50 and 70 years of age.
Women's breasts change; during adolescence, during the menstrual cycle, during pregnancy and breast-feeding and as a consequence of the menopause.
Most breast changes are not due to cancer. Your GP may refer you to our breast clinic because of a possible change or problem in your breast.
