    Qualified from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 1992. Completed basic surgical training in the North East. Developed expertise in the evaluation of new bowel cancer treatments in Manchester and was awarded an MD for his research in this area.

    Dr Jason Goh, Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist, Postgraduate Clinical Tutor

    Dr Tariq Iqbal

    Dr Tariq Iqbal, Consultant Gastrointestinal

    He has clinical interests in hollow organ gastroenterology and general hepatology, with particular interest in coeliac disease and iron metabolism. His research focuses on cell biology and the uptake and handling of iron by the gastrointestinal tract.

    Mr Tariq Ismail

    Mr Tariq Ismail, Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon

    He has been instrumental in the introduction of CT colonography and video capsule endoscopy in the Trust. He has also worked to develop colorectal referral pathways and improve surgical recover protocols. He is actively involved in teaching.

    Dr Shrikanth Pathmakanthan, Consultant Gastroenterologist

    Qualified in Dublin in 1991. After his MRCPI moved to Nottingham for his doctoral thesis. He did specialist GI training in Sheffield. Specialises in luminal gastroenterology and therapeutic endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography.
