Employment guidelines
Unless otherwise indicated, advertised posts are open to internal and external candidates.
Prior consideration will be given to applicants who are in departments/posts which may be adversely affected by organisational change.
If you are a current employee and consider you have been affected by organisational changes, the onus is on you to make clear your situations when making an application. Managers in affected departments are required to advise staff of appropriate vacancies.
These vacancies are also advertised on internal notice boards at the Administration Corridor, Ground Floor, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Recruitment Centre, J Block, Selly Oak Hospital. Managers are also required to make available printed versions of all vacancies to employees who do not have access to a computer.
All appointments are subject to pre-employment checks, which include:
- occupational health clearance
- reference checks
- safer recruitment pre-employment self-declaration
- for some positions, Criminal Record Bureau checks (refer to relevant Criminal Records Bureau information)
- identification checks in line with the asylum and immigration act
- educational/professional qualification and registration checks (as applicable)
The Trust is committed to operating flexible working practices wherever possible, and all posts are open to job share unless otherwise stated.
The Trust operates a no smoking policy.
