Council of Governors election notice

The Trust gives notice that it will hold elections to the Council of Governors of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

Elections are to be held for the number of governors below in accordance with the Trust’s constitution as amended by resolution of the governors on 17 June 2011.

One governor for each of the following public constituencies

  • Northfield
  • Selly Oak
  • Hall Green
  • Edgbaston
  • Ladywood
  • Yardley
  • Perry Barr
  • Sutton Coldfield
  • Erdington
  • Hodge Hill

Two patient governors

To be eligible to stand for election, individuals must be members of the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. Membership forms can be obtained from the Corporate Affairs Department:

The period of appointment will commence on Sunday 1 January 2012 and end on Monday 30 June 2014.

All nominations must be received by the returning officer at the address above by 12:00 on Monday 14 November 2011. Please do not return nomination papers to the Trust’s offices. Please note that faxed or e-mailed nominations will not be accepted.

Notices of withdrawal must be made in writing, witnessed and received by the returning officer no later than 17:00 on Thursday 17 November 2011.

Ballot papers will be distributed to all qualifying Trust members in the constituency on or before Wednesday 30 November 2011. Completed ballot papers must be received by the returning officer (OPT2VOTE LTD) by the close of poll at 17:00 on Thursday 22 December 2011.

The results of the elections will be published on the Trust website and feature in the next membership letter.
