The Barclays Premier League Trophy at the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

Premier League Trophy visits QEHB

Story posted/last updated: 19 August 2010

Staff, patients and visitors at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham got a close-up view of the Barclays Premier League Trophy this week.

The trophy, which was lifted by Chelsea in May, has been held aloft by some of the most famous players in world football since its first season in 1992 – 1993.

More than 100 people flocked to see the trophy when it was put on display in the new hospital’s atrium, posing for photographs and enjoying the chance to get so close to such a famous part of British sporting culture.

The visit was organised by a promotions company on behalf of the Barclays Premier League.
