UHB promotes stroke awareness
Story posted/last updated: 27 October 2011
Members of the Trust’s Stroke Team will be on hand to raise awareness of stroke and stroke prevention at a special information session in the new QEHB atrium on Friday 28 October from 11:00 – 15:00.
They have joined forces with the Stroke Association and the West Midlands Stroke Research Network to answer questions from members of the public, past or present stroke survivors and their carers.
There will also be a chance for visitors to check their risk factors and get dietary advice to help reduce their risk of stroke.
Organiser Joanne McCormack, UHB Stroke Researcher and Lead for Hyperacute Stroke Research and Nursing, West Midlands Stroke Research Network, said: “We wanted to do something beneficial to support World Stroke Day.
“Our Stroke Association and Stroke Research Network colleagues have been very supportive and willing to give up some of their time to assist.
“We’re hoping to really celebrate our achievements and progression in stroke treatment and raise public awareness. All are welcome – so come and see us!”
