More about the Radiotherapy team
The department has radiographer lead practitioners, working at advanced level and specialising in:
- imaging
- quality assurance
- education and training
- planning
- portal imaging
- brachytherapy
- paediatrics
- research
- head and neck cancers
Therapy radiographers are highly skilled in administering high-energy ionising radiation for the treatment of cancer and a small proportion of non-malignant conditions, and have to undertake other specialised responsibilities. They take the lead responsibility for the care and management of the patient during the radiotherapy phase of their cancer journey and work collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary cancer team to ensure that cohesive care is delivered to the patients.
