Undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications
Undergraduate
Undergraduate pharmacy students in years two, three and four attend UHB for ward round teaching under the guidance of the teacher practitioner. Most senior clinical pharmacists are also involved in this programme.
Postgraduate
All rotational pharmacists undertake the clinical pharmacy programme provided by Keele University. The programme allows for the conversion of the diploma to a Masters (MSc) qualification.
The diploma in clinical pharmacy is designed principally as a distance learning programme. The course is modular based and involves attendance at study days. Problem solving, case presentations and practice based assignments are used to assess learning. Each individual is supported by a clinical co-ordinator who receives training from Keele University.
