Meet the Voluntary Services team
Bernadette Aucott, Voluntary Services Manager
Bernie is the Voluntary Services Manager for UHB and is responsible for the recruitment, training and retention of volunteers throughout the Queen Elizabeth and Selly Oak hospitals. She has worked in the NHS for approximately 10 years and was formerly a ward administrator.
Bernie has managed the Voluntary Services Department since it started in 2006. She has been instrumental in the increase of volunteers at UHB from an initial 180 and hopes to welcome the 1,000th volunteer by the time the new hospital opens.
Sandra Haynes MBE, Volunteer
Sandra has been working in Voluntary Services for two years and assists with all aspects of administrative work.
Sandra edits the quarterly newsletter for volunteers called "Volunteer Focus", and is also secretary to the Friends of Queen Elizabeth Medical Centre, a voluntary group which supports both Selly Oak and Queen Elizabeth hospitals.
