    Qualified from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 1992. Completed basic surgical training in the North East. Developed expertise in the evaluation of new bowel cancer treatments in Manchester and was awarded an MD for his research in this area.

    Mr Tariq Ismail

    Mr Tariq Ismail, Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon

    He has been instrumental in the introduction of CT colonography and video capsule endoscopy in the Trust. He has also worked to develop colorectal referral pathways and improve surgical recover protocols. He is actively involved in teaching.

    Qualified from Bristol University Medical School in 1985, he became a professor of surgery in 2006. His professional areas of interest are colorectal surgery, colorectal cancer and the genetics of colorectal cancer.
