Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic the South Birmingham Breast Unit has had to reschedule breast screening appointments.
The reason screening has been rescheduled is to reduce contact between individuals, and therefore lower the risk of infection from COVID-19.
If you have been sent a breast screening appointment, please do not attend. If you are expecting an appointment in the near future, please be aware that breast screening will not take place at this time.
If you have any changes in your breast or symptoms that are causing you concern, please contact your General Practitioner (GP) practice. Breast awareness information can be found on the NHS website.
If you have any questions, please ring the South Birmingham Breast Unit.

From Monday 1 June the breastfeeding clinic at Good Hope Hospital will be running again on an appointment system, rather than a "drop-in" service.
For mothers to attend, they need to be:
- Referred by a midwife /health professional via 0121 424 9471. We are only able to accommodate women that have given birth at our Trust due to the limited appointment slots we have.
- Self-referral (0121 424 9471)
The infant feeding team will be wearing appropriate PPE and will observe social distancing at all times.
