There's never been a better time to join our teams

Two of Good Hope Hospital’s biggest departments are celebrating after successfully filling all their nursing vacancies.
The Emergency Department (ED) and Acute Medical Unit (AMU) both provide round-the-clock care to some of the hospital’s most vulnerable patients.
Sixteen new colleagues have joined the teams during a successful recruitment drive which took place earlier this year.
Lynn Fisher, Director of Nursing, said: “I am so proud of both teams for the fantastic joint effort to create a dynamic, positive environment that people want to come and work in.
“For me, this is proof that Good Hope Hospital is an attractive choice for healthcare professionals and a great place to begin and grow your nursing career.”
Interest in senior clinical roles within the areas has also been high, with 30 potential new colleagues being shortlisted for jobs.
The teams have been well supported by the Trust’s international nursing recruitment programme. ED currently has 23 members of staff recruited from overseas in post, and in AMU, there are eight as part of the team.
The successful recruitment also comes on the back of the recent re-opening of the Clinical Decision Unit, a designated area where safe and timely clinical decisions can be made for patients who come to ED with specific emergency conditions.
Lynn added:“There is a real buzz here at the moment, with new clinical areas opening, a comprehensive ward refurbishment programme ongoing, and big plans afoot to redesign our Emergency Department.
“We also have an event planned later this year where we will be recruiting new healthcare assistant colleagues – more details will be coming soon. There’s no better time to join the Good Hope team.”
