You said, we did – Oceano system
Feedback from both patients and staff who use the Oceano system suggested that the list of available options in the ethnicity demographic field should better represent the communities from which our patients come, and should also be consistent with the fields in the Trust’s other clinical systems.
The Trust improved the list of options available to staff when registering patients. The options are now the same whether you are using OPTIMS or Oceano PAS and better reflect how our patients describe themselves.
Dean Croft, PAS Project Officer and Change Facilitator, said: “The Oceano Project Team continually work with users of Oceano to improve and enhance the system in order to make it as user-friendly as possible and to ensure the data we capture within it is both accurate and meaningful.
“We hope that the changes we have made will be helpful to both patients and staff.”
