We would like to reassure patients, visitors and staff that Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham is not affected by the "cyber attack" issues currently being experienced across the NHS.

The Trust remains vigilant and all patient services are running as usual.

We will update this website and our social media accounts if this situation changes.

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) is committed to providing excellent teaching and developmental support for all our staff, students and trainees to ensure we have a workforce able to provide the best in care. As a major provider of a broad range of services, we offer excellent opportunities for career development for both clinical and non-clinical staff. This is underpinned by bespoke programmes of education and training.

Our dedicated multi-professional education team is here to support the development of the Trust’s 8,500 staff and our many undergraduate and postgraduate trainees through a range of learning opportunities. Our training is hosted in UHB's own excellent facilities.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) site is also located next to the University of Birmingham, which is a major provider of health-related education. Together with the University and Birmingham Children's Hospital we have formed a partnership designed to drive Birmingham’s clinical and academic research profile.

We have many opportunities for work experience in the Trust, in clinical and non-clinical settings. We also have a highly successful apprenticeship programme, offering most of our apprentices a path into a career in our own Trust or in other areas of the NHS.
