Nutrition for critically ill COVID-19 patients

There is a requirement for a safe and effective enteral feeding protocol which is applicable to all COVID-19 patients.

This is important given the likelihood dietitians will be redeployed to other roles in the Trust. Given the expected numbers of  patients requiring  ITU across all sites, individualised regimens will not be feasible.

Guidance and an algorithm are available from the "Downloads" section.

Management of delirium in COVID-19 patients in ITU

Guidance has been written to assist clinicians in the identification and management of delirium on the ITU in patients with COVID-19 infection, including recommendations on pharmacological treatment.

Guidance and an algorithm are available from the "Downloads" section.

VTE prophylaxis in COVID-19 Patients in ITU

Due to the high risk of Venous Thromboembolism in patients with COVID-19 disease, guidance on thromboprophylaxis has been updated across all patients. Please see the updated guidance in the downloads section.
