The vast majority of patients that are dying from COVID-19 related disease have impaired respiratory function, and as a result have often been escalated to high flows of oxygen prior to the decision being made to palliate. Further guidance is available in the document "Use of oxygen during the end of life period in COVID-19 associated disease".

Guidance on the management of COVID-associated respiratory failure for non-specialists is also available to download.
