We are here to support you with a dialogue about the uncertainties and challenges that BAME staff are facing, as well as listening to your concerns and share the Trust’s response.

Responding to risks, concerns and issues for BAME staff in UHB during the COVID-19 pandemic. Director of HR, Cathi Shovlin asked staff to question how they feel, what concerns they may have about their health and safety at work and how to seek advice and support where needed, as the Trust risk assessment was launched. Consultant Nephrologist, Adnan Sharif gives a comprehensive explanation of what the data say about the impact of COVID-19 on people from BAME communities, and the disproportionate effect it has had.

He also speak about PPE and the current number of cases at the time for Trust. Responding to risks, concerns and issues for BAME staff in UHB during the COVID-19 pandemic. Executive Chief Nurse, Lisa Stalley-Green identifies the many impacts that COVID-19 has had on our BAME staff and the actions the Trust is taking to make sure all staff are safe and supported, targeting those at highest risk first. Trust Chaplain, Jackie Gayle, encourages staff to look after their physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
