Routine laboratory results

Last updated: 12 October 2022 at 18:01

Saliva and stool samplesĀ

Clinical Biochemistry are no longer able to process any saliva or stool samples for the foreseeable future as these samples may present a high risk of COVID-19 infection.

The assays primarily affected are: faecal calprotectin, faecal elastase and salivary cortisol.

Faecal assays

Faecal assays and samples are currently being processed.

Abnormal laboratory results

Due to increasing demands on everyone's time, Clinical Laboratory Services will attempt to telephone abnormal results a maximum of three times.

The results will be available to view electronically from the moment they are technically validated so that patient care will not be compromised.

We hope this will free up phone lines in all areas.
