Derek HoeyTamworth
Derek's background is in the advertising and marketing industry, both as a client and working for agencies. Following his retirement several years ago, Derek has engaged in a number of voluntary roles and activities including membership of the Healthwatch Staffordshire advisory board and South East Staffordshire CCG patient council.
Derek is also an honorary secretary of the local civic society, which involves preserving local heritage, and sits as a magistrate on the Staffordshire bench – mainly in Cannock.
Derek was first elected governor in 2016. Derek is a strong believer in the principles of the NHS and has a personal connection with the Trust, with his sons being born at Good Hope Hospital and where his family have previously received treatment.
