Flexible working process
Before submitting a written flexible working request, please consider if it will be beneficial to discuss flexible working with your manager first.
Early discussion, in advance of a written request, allows both parties to informally explore appropriate flexible working arrangements and consider initial flexible working options.
If a flexible working request can be agreed during an informal discussion, an outcome letter must be completed, especially if there is any impact on terms and conditions (i.e. pay). The process to follow is outlined on the responding to a request page:
