Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden is to take viewers on her breast cancer journey in a new BBC documentary, filmed at Good Hope Hospital.

The film will be broadcast on BBC One on Monday 26 August at 20:00 and BBC Three on Friday 30 August.

The Welsh dancer, who lives in The Black Country, was diagnosed in April 2023, at the age of 32, after finding a lump in her breast the day before she went on her honeymoon.

Amy said: "It was an exciting new chapter in my life, but finding a lump on my breast changed my life. I never thought at my age I would get cancer and, despite having family members and friends who were cancer survivors, had no idea just what the impact on my life would be.

"I hope others find hope and strength from this film, and that it encourages everyone to check themselves, no matter what age you are."

The documentary features colleagues from the Haematology Oncology Day Unit and Imaging teams.

Strictly Amy: Cancer and Me will also be available to stream on the BBC iPlayer.
