Our nursing and midwifery teams will be responsible for a large part of your care during your stay in hospital. They will be on hand to help you with any questions or concerns you may have.
There are different roles within our teams and our nurses and midwives wear different uniforms to help you identify who is who.
Who wears what?
Senior nursing and midwifery teams
The senior nursing and midwifery team wear this uniform. This includes the Chief Nurse, deputy chief nurses and directors of nursing.
Matrons
Matrons who work on wards wear this uniform. They are responsible for multiple wards and nursing teams within a speciality.
Specialist, research and corporate nurses and midwives
Specialist, research and corporate nurses and midwives wear this uniform. They are not part of the ward team but may be involved in your care.
Site team nurses
Site team nurses wear this uniform. They manage the safe transfer of patients across the hospital and support staff in clinical areas.
Senior sisters and charge nurses
Senior sisters and charge nurses wear this uniform. They manage wards and clinical areas.
Deputy sisters and charge nurses
Deputy sisters and charge nurses wear this uniform.
Staff nurses
Staff nurses wear this uniform.
