At University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) it is important that we provide somewhere comfortable for carers that need to stay overnight, to aid good quality rest and sleep.
Fold away guest beds are available on all wards across all four hospital sites. Guest beds can be moved between wards as needed. Blankets, a pillow and breakfast are also provided for carers.
Discussions regarding whether it is appropriate for you to stay overnight will take place with ward staff. In some circumstances it may not be possible for you to stay at the bedside. Staff will discuss the reasons for this with you individually and advise on possible alternatives.
