Booking Practical Skills Training

It is a mandatory requirement for all new resident doctors joining the Trust to receive some face to face practical skills training.

These sessions compliment the online theory that you will have undertaken within the mandatory resident doctors induction package as part of your induction to the Trust.

All new resident doctors will need to attend small group practical skills training session on each of the following topics:

  • Practical Resuscitation Training
  • Practical Blood Transfusion Training
  • Practical ABG (Blood Gas Analyser) Machine Training
  • Practical PICS Training

Who needs to book onto a session?

Depending on your start month, you may need to book your own session.

If you start in February, July, or August

  • You’ll be automatically enrolled in the training as part of your Trust Induction
  • You’ll receive a confirmation before your start date

If you start in any other month (January, March, April, May, June, September, October, November, or December)

  • You must book your own practical skills training
  • Please email each department listed below to arrange your sessions

How do I book?

Please email each department to arrange your training.

All resident doctors must:

Once complete you will need to book a suitable appointment to have your mask fitted/tested ready for use:

Should you experience any difficulties with the above once you have started at the Trust, please email the Fit Testing Team.
