Dr Riad AlameConsultant Gastroenterologist
Consultant Gastroenterologist and advanced Endoscopist. After completing his training in the West Midlands, Dr Alame completed a post-CCT fellowship in advanced therapeutic upper GI endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound before taking on his consultant position in Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
Dr Alame chairs the dysplasia MDT, is a core member of the IBD and upper GI cancer MDTs and is the Clinical Service Lead for Endoscopy.
Dr Alame has interests in upper gastrointestinal medicine including endoscopic stenting, EMR, ESD, Barrett’s therapies, upper gastrointestinal cancer, eosinophilic oesophagitis and dysmotility.
He is a national expert and advisor for eosinophilic oesophagitis management and runs a specialist regional joint clinic with dietetics for the condition.
