Dr Shrikanth PathmakanthanConsultant Gastroenterologist
Dr Shri Pathmakanthan graduated as a doctor in Dublin, Ireland in 1991. In 1995, he attained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. This was followed by moving to Nottingham completing his MD thesis in the potential protective effects of intestinal bacteria in ulcerative colitis.
Specialist gastroenterology training was undertaken in Sheffield and then appointment as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust in 2002 where he practises to this day. He is interested in different modes of education, ERCP and inflammatory bowel disease.
