
Mr Simon FallisConsultant Colorectal Surgeon
Mr Simon Fallis is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He is the Clinical Service Lead and co-chair of the Trust-wide Colorectal Clinical Network.
Mr Fallis studied Medicine at the University of Oxford and St George’s Hospital, London, graduating with distinction in 2003. After house officer posts in the South East, he moved to the West Midlands for basic and higher surgical training. He completed a post-CCT fellowship in laparoscopic and advanced colorectal malignancy in Basingstoke and obtained certification from the European School of Peritoneal Surface Oncolgy. He was appointed as a Consultant in Birmingham in 2015.
Mr Fallis previously served as the West Midlands Chapter representative and a member of Council for the Association of Coloproctology Great Britain and Ireland between 2019 and 2023. He was also a Surgical Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of the regional training committee until 2023.
Clinical interests include colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. Mr Fallis is part of a specialist team at Good Hope Hospital who regularly perform Cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC for colorectal peritoneal metastases.
