University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust has opened the brand new Heartlands Treatment Centre at Heartlands Hospital. The £97m state-of-the-art centre brings together diagnostics, day case procedures, endoscopy, audiology, outpatients, therapies, and imaging services under one roof.
Following planning permission from Birmingham City Council for a new, four-storey facility on the Heartlands site, the £97m investment in the new centre was announced by the Department for Health and Social Care in August 2019. This was an exciting step forward in progress of the new centre and meant that a series of enabling works could take place in preparation for construction of the new centre.
