University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) is gearing up to celebrate International Clinical Trials Day 2026 with its annual Research Showcase, taking place across all four of our hospital sites.

Our Research Showcase at QEHB will be on Wednesday 20 May, 10:00 - 14:00, in the Atrium (Main Entrance).

From groundbreaking clinical trials to pioneering developments, the showcase will highlight the incredible research happening at QEHB and the real difference it is making for patients, colleagues, and the wider region.

This year’s event is extra special as it coincides with the 20th anniversary of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) - funded by the Department of Health and Social Care to improve the health and wealth of the nation through research.

Embracing the NIHR20 theme, teams will showcase work that reflects NIHR’s four key pillars - impact, inclusion, innovation, and investment - while highlighting some of the most significant achievements over the past 20 years.

With engaging, interactive displays and accessible presentations, the showcase will bring the world of research to life, making it more visible and accessible for everyone. Topics will cover a wide range of areas, including critical care and trauma, cancer, dermatology, haematology, advanced therapies, data, and more.

We invite patients, colleagues, and members of the public to join us, discover the research happening at QEHB, and see the difference it is making in shaping the future of healthcare.
