Jennie Dayrit, a Senior Physiotherapist in the Intermediate Care team at Solihull Hospital, has been spotlighted by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), sharing how her Filipino heritage continues to shape the way she cares for patients and supports colleagues.
Jennie moved to the UK in 2004 after qualifying as a physiotherapist in the Philippines and says the values of kindness, respect, family and community remain at the heart of her practice.
Reflecting on her journey, she said: "I haven't left my Filipino values behind. They continue to shape the way I care for patients and contribute to my team."
She also highlights the importance of representation, adding: "When people see someone with a similar background progressing into leadership, education or specialist roles, it helps them believe that they can achieve those goals too."
And she has an inspiring message for others: "Be proud of where you come from, stay curious, continue learning and don't be afraid to let your authentic self shine."
