Cancer

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) is one of the largest regional centres for cancer treatment, with treatments taking place across all our four hospitals.

We have established links with surrounding hospitals and cancer units, and receive referrals from across the West Midlands, nationally and Europe.

The Trust provides a range of services:

  • cancer diagnostics
  • treatments
  • palliative care
  • living with and beyond cancer

In addition, we have a cancer information and support service, which focuses on putting the patient first by delivering a holistic service to fit the individual patient's needs.

A range of different healthcare professionals work as a multidisciplinary team (MDT), providing each patient access to the right treatment, support and care throughout their journey with us.

Many of our consultants also work collaboratively for other regional and national NHS organisations, as well as in universities and across the healthcare industry to offer our patients clinical trial opportunities, and access to pioneer developments in the treatment of cancer.
