What to expect after referral

You will meet your consultant, who will gain more information about you and your referral. Some investigations may need to be caried out prior to or on the day of the clinic appointment. If you are attending the Joint Pituitary Clinic, you will be seen by more than one clinician, including a surgeon, an endocrinologist, a CNS and a neuro-ophthalmologist.

Your case will then be discussed at a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting, where any scans, eye assessments and blood test results will be reviewed. The recommended plan of care can include:

  • observation
  • surgery
  • radiotherapy
  • medical therapy
