Rachel SmallClinical Matron, Gynaecology & Early Pregnancy
Rachel is a Nurse, Midwife & Sonographer and is the Clinical Matron for Gynaecology & Early pregnancy at UHB.
She is a nationally recognised expert in Recurrent Miscarriage & Early Pregnancy care. She is the Chair of the Association of Early Pregnancy Units, sits of multiple national committees including the NICE multiple obstetric guideline group. She has published extensively on these subjects.
She is medical advisor to the ectopic trust and peer reviews editorial articles for several health journals.
In 2019 she was awarded honoris causa by the royal college of obstetricians and gynaecologists for significant contribution to Women’s Health , and in 2024 was awarded the lifetime achievement for care to bereaved families.
