At UHB our community midwifery team are passionate, approachable and dedicated to giving you high quality care.
Our community midwives are based in GP surgeries and children’s centres across East Birmingham, Erdington, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield. Community midwives give antenatal and postnatal care, whilst making sure the safety and wellbeing of mum and baby are priority. Our community midwives work closely with GPs, health visitors, social care and obstetric consultants in the area where you choose to birth your baby.
The relationship between you and your community midwife is important. Please try not to miss appointments. If you can’t come to your appointment, please contact your midwife before your appointment.
Planning for your community midwife appointments
Waiting times in clinics can vary and planning ahead can make your visits easier.
Here are some suggestions:
- Write a list of any questions you want to ask and take it with you.
- You are welcome to bring someone with you such as your partner – this can help them feel more involved in the pregnancy and ask their own questions.
- You may want to bring a snack and a drink with you.
