Free public transport update
Increased levels of service are being added to the Demand Responsive Network for NHS staff from Monday.
Information for staff can be found in the "Shuttle bus services" section
Heartlands and Solihull hospitals are not served by free shuttles or demand responsive services, but details of relevant public transport are available below:

Transport for West Midlands is also working with the NHS to ensure that the public transport system continues to support safe and reliable travel to and from major hospitals.
All NHS staff can currently travel on buses and the metro system free of charge at any time and dedicated shuttle services have also been introduced to provide supplementary services to and from hospitals.

Volunteers needed for Nightingale Hospital
Volunteers are being sought to help out at the new NHS Nightingale Hospital Birmingham at the NEC.
There are a number of voluntary positions available including bedside buddies and concourse volunteers.
The role of the volunteer is to provide non-clinical support to patients, staff and service delivery at the hospital.
More information can be found on the Nightingale Hospital Birmingham website:
Clinical biochemistry sampling
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, Clinical Biochemistry will continue to offer all our specialist blood and urine services; however, there may be an increase in turnaround times experienced due to the reduced workload for specialist tests, and relocation of our staff to maintain core services as required.
Unfortunately we are no longer able to process any saliva or stool samples for the foreseeable future as these samples may present a high risk of COVID-19 infection.
