Free parking at Bromsgrove station for health workers, carers and volunteers

Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and Worcestershire County Council are allowing health workers, carers and volunteers on official duty to park for free at Bromsgrove railway station. Anyone wishing to take advantage of this will simply need to display the Government-issued COVID-19 parking pass, completed with registration number and name of the driver's employer, in their windscreen while parking at the station. No further parking ticket will be required.

More details about the pass, which is issued by local authorities, NHS trusts and the Royal Voluntary Service, is available on the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government website:

For those who have been issued with a COVID-19 parking pass and have already paid for a car parking season ticket for Bromsgrove railway station, please contact TfWM's Customer Relations Team.

Please remember to upload a picture of both your parking season ticket and your permit when you get in touch so the team can arrange for a refund if this applies to you. In line with the Government's guidance, this will last for as long as the Government deems necessary as part of its COVID-19 response.

Initiative connecting those offering support with those in need

Individuals and organisations keen to do their bit in the fight against coronavirus are being invited to join a new initiative which connects offers of help to those most in need.

West Midlands Combined Authority COVID-19 Support is a dedicated web-based platform for people, businesses and front-line services to offer practical help and support during the crisis.

The platform has been launched by the WMCA to bring the community together in the COVID-19 battle, and link up and coordinate offers and requests.

Offers of support currently include a wide range of actions such as home deliveries to those self-isolating, accommodation for key workers, production and delivery of medical equipment and even installation of mobile clinics.

Currently only offers of support can initially be registered on the platform, but the scheme will soon include a section for those requiring assistance to log their detailed needs so that the asks and offers can be connected even more quickly.

In the meantime, those seeking assistance can still look at the offers of support and make contact with those individuals and organisations they believe can best meet their needs.
