New guidelines for the respiratory care of COVID-19 patients outside Critical Care

All colleagues providing patient-facing care need to familiarise themselves with the Trust’s new guidelines on providing respiratory care to COVID-19 patients outside of Critical Care.

Homeworking survey

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, some colleagues at UHB have been working from home.

In order to understand the impact, the positives and the negatives of homeworking, we asked colleagues to tell us more about their working from home arrangements and experiences over the past few months.

We also asked managers how they feel it has impacted their teams in a separate survey.

To view the results of both surveys in full and find out what we did to in response to the survey, visit:

If you’re interested in joining a homeworking focus group that will help the Trust shape future resources and support on this subject, please contact HR Manager Emily Leach:

Heartlands Hospital staff briefings

Unsure of the latest Trust PPE guidance, what the visiting policy is or how demand on services is being managed at Heartlands?

With the second wave of COVID-19 infection underway, the twice weekly Heartlands Hospital lunchtime briefings are there for all staff to find out what they need to know about the sites response to the pandemic.

Held at 12:30 every Monday and Thursday they are 10–15 minute briefings via webinar summing up an overview of the site position and time for staff to ask Senior Responsible Clinician, Dr Rif Rashad (or her colleagues) any questions.

We are keen that these briefings are useful to Heartlands staff so that they are supported during this time: let us know what you would find useful to see covered at the briefings by completing the brief five minute survey here:

Click on this link below to register for each of the briefings. Once registered you will receive reminders for all future webinars:
