Convalescent plasma donors

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is collecting plasma from donors who have recovered from COVID-19. Donated plasma will be transfused to patients being treated for COVID-19 in the setting of clinical trials which are running at UHB.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and would like to donate please call  and say that you are an NHS worker.

Tel: 0300 123 2323

Details will then be passed to the NHSBT dedicated COVID-19 convalescent plasma team.

Plasma donations can be taken at 28+ days after hospital discharge or at 35+ days after having displayed COVID-19 symptoms, self-isolated and recovered.

Anyone who is eligible to donate will be contacted by NHSBT to book an appointment, relative to their phase of recovery.
