COVID-19 booster vaccinations

COVID-19 booster vaccinations are now available to all UHB staff at Hospital Hubs on the QEHB and Solihull Hospital sites.

Please note you can only receive a COVID-19 booster if it has been at least six months since your second COVID-19 vaccination.

As the flu vaccine is now also available to anyone working at UHB, colleagues are encouraged to book both their COVID-19 booster and their flu jab using the below links.

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (Cellar Restaurant, Nuffield House)

Solihull Hospital (Main Outpatients)

The COVID-19 booster and the flu jab can be safely co-administered, however you will need to book two separate appointments to receive these (one for the flu vaccine and one for the COVID-19 booster). We recommend booking timeslots close together on the same day so you can receive both vaccines without having to return to the hub another day.

If you are not yet eligible for your COVID-19 booster because you had your second dose of the vaccine less than six months ago, you are still encouraged to book in for your flu vaccine.

No walk-ins are available for either the COVID-19 booster or the flu vaccine in the Hospital Hubs.

In order to book an appointment, you will need to provide your:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • NHS number
  • Employee number (known as payroll / assignment number)
  • Mobile telephone number (so that appointment date and time can be texted)

On the day of appointment, please bring your ID badge or a payslip as proof of employment.

Any other queries regarding COVID-19 boosters for health and social care staff should be directed to:

You can find more information about the flu vaccination on our flu website.

UHB Faith Centres

We are very aware that since March 2020, all opportunities for public worship and congregational prayer within UHB’s Faith Centres have been suspended. For many of our colleagues, this has been extremely difficult, and particularly at times of the year when major festivals are being celebrated.

The situation is reviewed on a regular basis by the Senior Leadership team. There is currently a concentration of the numbers of positive cases within our hospitals, a high number of immunocompromised patients, and we are seeing transmission between double-vaccinated patients and staff.

Because of this it is still not safe to re-open the Faith Centres fully. They do however remain open for private prayer, meditation, and to access support offered by all members of the Chaplaincy team.
