Doctor information

All doctors are reminded to take note of the following guidance when completing documentation of expected or confirmed deaths.

Doctors are especially reminded that when a death is confirmed they must write their GMC number on PICS. The doctor confirming the death should also write a proposed cause of death in the notes.

Meals for frontline clinical staff

A variety of frozen and chilled ready-meals complete with heating instructions, disposable plates, napkins, cutlery and seasoning will be available for frontline clinical staff working out-of-hours from 19:00 on Thursday 9 April 2020 until further notice.

These will be topped up each evening and located in central locations for these colleagues to access.

Motorway roadworks near the NEC

Highways England is planning night time road closures which could affect travel near the NHS Nightingale Birmingham Hospital.

The closures from around 21:00 – 06:00 are for urgent resurfacing and bridge joint repairs to the carriageway on the M42.
