Types of membership

There are two different types of membership at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB).

Public

Public membership is divided into two classes:

1. Birmingham – consisting of anyone living within the Birmingham electoral wards including patients and carers who are not otherwise eligible to be a staff member
2. Rest of England and Wales – consisting of anyone living within the area of England and Wales, including patients and carers, not residents within the Birmingham area, who are not otherwise eligible to be a staff member

Staff

The staff constituency is divided into four classes:

1. Medical staff
2. Nursing staff
3. Clinical professions allied to healthcare staff
4. Corporate and support services staff
