Pay progression standards

New Agenda for Change pay progression standards will take effect from Saturday 1 April 2023.

The new, nationally agreed, standards require staff to demonstrate that they have met certain requirements to receive pay progression.

Staff will progress to the next pay step point on their pay step date where the following can be demonstrated:

  1. The appraisal process has been completed within the last 12 months and outcomes are in line with the organisation’s standards
  2. There is no formal capability process in place
  3. There is no formal disciplinary sanction live on the staff member’s record
  4. Statutory and mandatory training has been completed
  5. For line managers only – appraisals have been competed for all their staff as required
