Annual Memorial Service for Baby Loss Awareness Week

People from across Birmingham and Solihull are invited to attend a special service as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week on Sunday 13 October.

The annual ‘A Time to Remember’ service is for people affected by baby loss, providing an opportunity to meet other families and to take time to collectively share and remember their babies.

The service will coincide with similar activities across the country as part of National Baby Loss Awareness Week, which runs from 9 - 15 October.

During this week, University Hospitals Birmingham is taking the opportunity to raise awareness of the impact of baby loss and the importance of ongoing bereavement care and support by taking part in a range of events.

Clare Beesley, Lead Bereavement Support Midwife at the Trust, said: “The loss of a baby can be a traumatic experience for any family to have to go through and we hope this service can offer a peaceful setting, where families feel supported. We have held the service for a number of years and many families who have attended in that time have found comfort in being with other families. Together they can share and commemorate their precious babies.”

The service will be held on Sunday 13 October 2024 at 14:00 at St Barnabus Church Centre, High Street, Erdington, Birmingham B23 6SY.

Families are very welcome to attend.
