A £1 million investment in a new Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) facility at Solihull Hospital has been unveiled, with a special ribbon cutting opening by the Mayor of Solihull.

The UTC is open from 08:00 – 20:00, seven days a week, providing urgent care for common issues including:

  • Broken bones
  • Sprains
  • Cuts
  • Stomach pains
  • Rashes
  • Minor burns

The new facility will be available for adults and children (one year and over) and can be accessed through NHS111 or by walking-in. There will be a mixture of different clinical professionals delivering the service including Emergency Nurse Practitioners and GPs.

The UTC cannot treat life-threatening emergencies, such as heart attacks and strokes; the public are advised to call 999 or attend their nearest accident and emergency department in these circumstances.

A special thank you to all those involved in making this hugely anticipated event a reality.
