Overseas vaccination validation service opens in Birmingham

An overseas vaccination validation service has opened at Birmingham New Street’s COVID-19 Vaccination Centre.
This service enables people to book appointments to show evidence for COVID-19 vaccinations** they’ve had outside of England. This is so the NHS can securely update vaccination records, which in turn can enable people to get an NHS COVID Pass.
The service is open on 13, 16, 20, 23 and 30 April, between 10:00 and 17:30 to anyone over the age of five, who has received vaccinations** in another country and also has an NHS number. Appointments must be booked via the NHS website.
Kate Woolley, Director of Birmingham and Solihull’s COVID-19 Vaccination Programme, said: “It’s brilliant news that people can now easily update their NHS records, to include any COVID-19 vaccinations they’ve had outside of the country. I would urge anyone who has had vaccinations overseas to come forward and get your records updated at one of the sessions in April.
“It is really important to visit the NHS website prior to booking, to find out which vaccines are recognised and how you can use this service. We are very excited about this new service and want to make sure we can get as many records updated as possible.
“As we all move forward and learn to live with COVID-19, it’s crucial we are aware of everyone who has been vaccinated. Our top priority is to make sure everyone eligible for a vaccine has had their jab.”
Birmingham New Street COVID-19 Vaccination Centre is located at Unit 19/20 at the city’s main train station and is also open for COVID-19 pre-booked and walk-in vaccinations. It is one of many vaccination sites open across Birmingham and Solihull for pre-booked appointments, as well as walk-ins.
Kate continued: “So far, the Birmingham and Solihull COVID-19 vaccination programme has delivered over 2.2 million vaccinations across the area, which is incredible. There are still lots of people with COVID-19 in our area and I would encourage anyone who has not had all of the vaccinations they are eligible for – whether that’s a first, second dose or a booster – to come forward as soon as they can, not only to protect themselves, but others around them too.”
