HIV

The HIV services at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) are offered by the Birmingham Heartlands HIV Service and the Queen Elizabeth HIV Service. Between them they comprise the largest HIV Service in the Midlands, looking after over 3000 people and families living with HIV. Both services offer non-judgemental, comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care and services for individuals living with HIV.

Individuals are seen by our specialist HIV consultants and the experienced HIV multidisciplinary team consisting of pharmacists, social workers, health advisors, dieticians, mental health counsellors, psychologists, research nurses and our dedicated HIV nursing teams.

Birmingham Heartlands HIV service also hosts the regional paediatric and adolescent HIV service and national military HIV service. The Queen Elizabeth HIV service hosts the regional HTLV service while both services participate in HIV research trials.
