Special educational needs and disability support

Children and young people with special educational needs, disabilities and neurodiverse conditions and their families may need additional support during their visit or stay in hospital.

There are hospital passport documents for children and young people with learning disabilities, and/or autism and mental health needs that can be accessed at the bottom of the page.

We recognise that our hospital passports may not cover the full, broad range of needs that your child or young person has, therefore we welcome and encourage you to bring any current documentation, profile documents or hospital passports that will enable you to share information about your child or young person and discuss your child’s reasonable adjustment needs with our team.

Depending on where you live and who your GP is, your local area will have a local offer for children and young people with SEND needs.

You can check if your GP belongs to Solihull or Birmingham, or Staffordshire on the links below.

Each local offer page below will give you more information on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) for your child and you.
