Clinical guidance

HDL cholesterol forms part of the standard lipid panel in blood. HDL cholesterol testing, together with total cholesterol, LDL and triglycerides, is used to screening for atherosclerotic risk and in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders involving elevated cholesterol levels as well as lipid and lipoprotein metabolic disorders.
