EDTA Whole Blood
Minimum volume required
4 mL of whole blood in EDTA tube, minimum volume of 0.5 mL
Special requirements
Samples are not processed out of hours. Please ensure that samples collected on Friday reach the laboratory before 4pm

Sample viability
Lymphocyte phenotyping stability has been validated up to 40 hours post venepuncture. Samples received >40 hours old will not be tested Where sample collection data is unavailable to the laboratory, validity of results is uncertain.
