Centromere antibodies are seen in systemic sclerosis in its limited cutaneous form and in the CREST variant. In patients with Raynaud's phenomenon the presence of centromere antibody signifies an increased chance of developing a rheumatic disease. Can occur in up to 20% of patients with PBC.
